Tell us as much as you can.
The more specific you can be, the better. Things we
would like to know include:
Your Computer: the brand it is, how long you've had it, and whether it's still under warranty.
Your Hard Drive: Brand, if you know it, and the size, how much you think you have stored on there, and what happened before it stopped working. Is it inside your computer, or in a separate enclosure?
What Happened: Try to remember what you were doing when the drive failed. Has it been acting slow lately? Does it make strange noises? Details, we want details.
What Do You Need Most? Pictures? Documents? Music? Financial data? All of the above? Give it some thought.
Phone Numbers: You don't have to provide them, but if you want fast service it might be better if we talk on the phone. We'd be glad to call you back during the times you specify, if you provide a number (or two) and a good time to call.
